Memusi says bye bye to Jubilee

Nairobi - I will remain in ODM despite past allegiances with the Jubilee coalition, new Kajiado Central MP Memusi Kanchori has said.
The newly elected Kajiado Central MP-elect won the Monday poll after trouncing his rival Patrick Tutui of the Jubilee Alliance Party JAP with 16,008 votes to 15,508.
Prior to the election, Memusi was a Jubilee member and only shifted to the ODM camp after he cried foul over the nomination process that saw Tutui declared winner.
And despite many terming the win a Jubilee one and suggesting that Memusi will work with the Jubilee coalition instead of ODM, he was quick to shoot the suggestions down.
" I will remain in ODM. There is no discussion about that," he said.
" I do not want to talk about parties right now. The victory that I have
got is an ODM victory; it’s a people of Kajiado Central
" Forget about my past in other parties, I am now building my
career in ODM."
" I thank all those that stuck with me. I thank all those that sided with me in tough times and I promise to do my best for them," he added.
The win for Memusi will be a happy one for ODM as a party and especially leader Raila Odinga, who will revel in beating president Uhuru Kenyatta and JAP to the tape despite the enormous resources put into the election.
Head of elections Suna MP Mohammed Junet could not hide his joy at the result.
" It showed that ODM can deliver as long as we are united and I promise more and more moving forward," he said.
" We had a plan and executed it to perfection and we are all very happy about it," he added.
