Medic shot dead by unknown assailant in Nakuru

Nakuru - Detectives in Nakuru have launched a probe into the murder of a medical practitioner attached to the Rift Valley Provincial General Hospital (PGH) in Nakuru.
According to the Nakuru OCS Bamfort Tsurwa, the late Dr. Johnson Teiya was shot dead Tuesday night by an unknown assailant at Section 58.
Tsurwa said detectives who arrived at the scene managed to recover one spent cartridge.
His death is a great loss to the medical fraternity, said a member of the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentist Union-South Rift chapter.
“The assailants shot the late colleague from the driver’s side,” said Kabiru.
This comes a week after the Nakuru County Commissioner, Mohammed Birik assured residents of unwavering security ahead of the just concluded Easter weekend.
