A Nyahururu - based doctor lost KES 125 000 to con men who had allegedly promised to deliver him medical supplies.
The doctor who runs a clinic in Mairo-inya had struck a deal with the two smartly dressed young men to have them deliver the supplies Wdnesday morning.
After the doctor gave out the cash, the two said they were going to get the cargo only for them to take too long thereby raising suspicions that
something was amiss.
The doctor launched a manhunt for them and spotted them refuelling their car at a Nyahururu petrol station and when they sensed that they were to be cornered, they sped away only to crush with another car leaving the petrol station.
The two alighted, fled on foot then later boarded an awaiting car that sped off towards Nairobi.
Nyandarua North OCPD Benjamin Onsongo said that it seemed the gang was organised.
He also confirmed that a manhunt for the suspects has been launched and the medic is assisting the police with investigations.
