As president Kibaki plans his retirement, he is well touring and spending much time in his constituency Othaya.
On Thursday, he was moving from one corner in the constituency to the other in the company of some politicians and development leaders from Nyeri County and various seat aspirants led by his favourite Gichuki Mugambi.
He first opened a new District Commissioner’s office in Othaya town and later a newly constructed block at Othaya boys’ high school.
However, one of the Othaya seat aspirants on TNA ticket and a political activist Mary Wambui was blocked from entering the opening ceremony at Munyange police station.
The president is officiating the completed projects in the constituency.
Police officers in civil attires and others uniformed have been patrolling the area since Wednesday preparing for Thursday's visit by Head of State while others carrying red carpets to the scenes he is expected to visit.
Uniformed security guards at the gate blocked Wambui and a group of her supporters from entering the ceremonious event.
Wambui, her closest rival Gichuki Mugambi and another aspirant Esau Kioni were earlier spotted together having cheerful moments some metres away from the main gate to Munyange police station.
Sabasaba Asili secretary general and Nyeri county governor aspirant Thuo Mathenge is also one of the guests rightly with the president.
