26 February 2015, 15:47
Nairobi - March plays host to quite a number of events, notably first
time entry Mardi Gras, an international festival celebrated in Brazil, Sweden,
Belgium and the United States to mention just a few.
Nairobi is set to host its
very first Mardi Grass on March 7th at the Tree House Bar and Restaurant
in what could be the hottest event of the year. Mardi Gras is French for “Fat
Tuesday”, the day before Ash Wednesday where people get to eat fatty and rich
foods before beginning the Lenten fast.
Here in Nairobi, the event celebrates culture, art, food, music
and diversity within the East African region. It will feature some of the
hottest musical acts and Dj’s including Blinky Bill, Zalalem, Dread
Steppa, Sean Fraser, David Tinning, Band performance by Afro
Simba, Marcus Ezra, Zontor and one surprise guest DJ and one
surprise guest band performance.
It will also have 2 stages, floats, art exhibitions and street food making it one of the few events worth
attending this March.
Tickets will be going for 1500ksh (ADVANCE) and 2000ksh
(GATE) and are available at Ticketsasa.com.
