Man who whipped Raila arrested

Kwale - Police in Kinango have arrested the man who whipped
the former Prime Minister, Raila Odinga and Kwale Governor, Salim Mvurya.
The man, identified as Lengo Mudzomba, was arrested at his employer's homestead
while mowing the lawn.
Wanted to access handouts
Kinango sub-County commissioner, Moses Ivuto told journalists in his office
that Mdzomba, whose original home is Jibana in Kilifi County, attacked the two
so as to access the handouts that were being dished out to dancers.

"When he heard the choppers hoovering, he saw it as an opportunity to
access the venue. While at the venue, he tried to get the handouts while
accessing the dignitaries," said Ivuto.
According to Ivuto, the man claimed
to be poor and thus wanted a share of the handouts.
"A crime is alleged to have been committed and the law must be followed.
We will charge him with assault, " added the commissioner.

Kinango OCPD Moses Kikului told journalists that following the crime, the
government is the complainant.
At his employer's homestead where he worked as a Gardner, Nassim Issa who is
his boss said the man who has worked there for three months has never shown
signs of mental illness.
"He has never insulted anyone for the time that I have known him. He came
here for employment and I gave him work of maintaining the garden while also
providing his food and a place to sleep," she said.
Upset by Okoa Kenya campaigns
She added that on the fateful day, Mudzomba returned home fuming and
complaining about the Okoa Kenya campaigns.
"He asked what we had to Okoa
(salvage) when almost everything was
going wrong. He was disappointed that teachers and nurses were demanding pay
hikes while people are dying of hunger," she added of the man who is said
to be a senior bachelor for fear of sexually transmitted diseases.
Issa described the man as very polite and humble saying the family was
surprised of the ordeal.
She further noted that she has never seen him with a walking stick.
