Nakuru - Barely a week after Nakuru police boss, Bernard Muinde Kioko led an operation on the Nakuru-Eldoret highway leading to the killing of two suspected robbers, police have once again shot dead a suspected robber in Nakuru town while his accomplice managed to escape.
Confirming the incident, Kioko said one of the suspects was shot dead in the botched robbery.
“The two who were riding on a motorbike were on a mission to commit robbery when our armed officers accosted them following a tip from members of the public,” he said.
Kioko said the passenger jumped and attempted to run prompting the police to open fire on him. The motorbike rider managed to escape with gunshot wounds.
He added that the robber who was gunned down was only identified as Sammy Nesta, with police officers launching a manhunt for the motorbike rider.
