Man sentenced to 10 years defiling a minor

A 26 years old man was yesterday sentenced to 10 years imprisonment by a Maua court for indecently defiling a 13 years old deaf and dumb girl at Kagweru location in Igembe South District.
The married man, Jeremiah Kailemia was sentenced by the Chief magistrate John Kingori who acquitted him on main charge of defilement but convicted the culprit on alternative charge of indecent assault.
Jeremiah was charged that on 6th
of July, 2010 he forcefully defiled a physically challenged girl before dumping her at a nearby bush at Kaweru location.
The father of three has been a remandee at Kangeta GK Prison before his case was determined.
Elsewhere a 50 year man is recuperating at Kiamuri Mission Hospital after he attempted to commit suicide following a domestic disagreement with his wife at Kiamuri location in Meru Central District.
The victim Cosmas Mwongera told the people daily that he opted to take away his life owing to many false accusations mounted to him by his wife who always accuse him of not supporting the family financially.

According to Francis Murithi, an eyewitness the man was found lying down unconscious in his house before he was taken to a nearby Mission hospital where he is undertaking treatment.
Confirming the incident the area local police chief Sylvester Githungo, said they will arrested the man and charge him in court with attempted suicide.
Githungo however urged the residents to consider tabling dialogue to resolve domestic conflicts other than take away own life.ENDS………………………………….
