Grief has hit Baraka estate in Laikipia East district after a 31 year old man stabbed his cousin to death following a prolonged quarrel over a TV channel.
Catherine Kabura died after she was stabbed severally on her chest by her cousin Franklin Macharia after the two disagreed over a remote control.
According to eyewitnesses, the two cousins were living in a single house.
Tragedy struck when the assailant demanded for the TV remote control to watch his favorite programme.
Kabura declined and verbal exchange of harsh words followed thereafter before the assailant picked a knife and stabbed her several times.
Speaking to the media in his office, Laikipia East OCPD Joshua Lutukai confirmed that both Macharia and Kabura picked a quarrel after they differed over tastes of their TV channels.
“The lady died on the spot. We arrested the man and he will be arraigned in court this week,” said Lutukai.
Kabura’s body was taken to Nanyuki District mortuary as the police investigates the matter.
