Nairobi - A man died in Kitengela town outside Nairobi after an argument in a bar where he was accused of cutting off another person's ear.
The man died in the town where tension has been high following clashes between members of the Maasai Community and other tribes.
This followed a demand by the Maasai to have half the Kitengela Market allocated to them as they are the indigenous community in the area.
Isinya OCPD Stephen Wena said that the incident was a domestic issue.
" It happened in a bar after the man cut off another one's ear and then when he tried to escape was cornered by Boda Boda operators and killed," he told News24 on phone.
Police have beefed up security in the town.
" We have increased security in-order to reduce the tension and ensure things return to normal," he added.
So far it is understood that 20 people have been injured in the violence.
