Man in court for robbing herder violently

Nyeri - A man who allegedly robbed a herder KES 2 500 was Wednesday arraigned in a Nanyuki court.
Mponua Selel was charged that on January 16, he violently robbed Benson Kataka Lemureiyani KES 2 500 at Lokusero area in Laikipia County.
It is said that while committing the offense, the accused person was armed with a spear, machete and club.
According to the charge sheet, the complainant was grazing his cattle when the accused approached him demanding for money.

The complainant reported the matter at Andugu Police Post, leading to the arrest of the accused person at Lokusero trading centre.
However, the accused denied the charges and was released on bond of KES 200 000 with a similar surety and the case slated to continue on April 2, 2015.
