Man in court for assaulting, injuring wife

Nyeri - A man was arraigned in a Murang’a court for assaulting and causing grievous harm on his wife.
It is alleged that Stephen Karithe assaulted Loise Wagaturi on the night of June 3 at Mumbi Estate within Murang’a town, causing her bodily harm.
According to the prosecution, Karithe arrived home drunk that day and started a quarrel with his wife resulting in the fight.
The complainant raised an alarm and was rescued by neighbours who took her to Murang’a district hospital for treatment.

While appearing before Senior Resident Magistrate Jesse Masiga, the accused admitted the charges but the court did not issue a ruling.
The magistrate ordered the accused be held at Murang’a police station and that the complainant appear in court on June 16 to give her evidence.
