A man has denied charges of assaulting a Police Officer before a Nyeri Magistrate’s Court.
John Mwangi Mboni appeared before Chief Magistrate Wilbroadah Juma charged that on May 28 he assaulted Dan Mbogo who was on his duties as an instructor at Kiganjo Police Training College.
His case was adjourned to June 17 with a mention of June 14.
In the same court, a young lady pleaded not guilty to charges of stealing by servant.
Grace Gathoni Karigithu was charged that on May 28 she stole KES 106 250 from Slopes Firm Limited in Nyeri town.
She is alleged to have committed the offence by virtue of being an employee of the firm.
Led by Inspector Catherine Wambua, the prosecution requested court to remand the accused at Nyeri Police Station to allow for further investigations into the matter.
She objected to release of the accused person on bond saying investigations are not complete since she was arrested on Thursday at 8pm and time was much limited for police to have conducted the exercise.
The case will be mentioned on June 3.
