Nyeri - A man is being held at Nyeri central police station for allegedly attacking and injuring his neighbour’s cow with a panga.
Harrison Karuga is said to have committed the offence on March 31 at Wamagana village in Tetu sub-County and then disappeared until Tuesday when he was arrested.
The owner of the cow, Lucas Mwangi, said he was resting in his house when he heard his cow making some strange noises outside.
When he rushed to find out what was happening, he found the cow bleeding on the eyes and udder where it had allegedly been stabbed with sharp object.
However, Mwangi said Karuga was among the neighbours who responded to his distress call but noticed that Karuga had a blood-stained panga. When asked about it, Karuga escaped to an unknown destination only to resurface on Tuesday.
