Nyeri - A man who was found with Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) items was Thursday sentenced to a two-year jail term by a Nanyuki court.
John Loitemu Morijo was found guilty of possessing assorted jungle items which included shirts, boots and belts among others belonging to KDF on October 6, 2014.
Nanyuki chief magistrate, Wanjiku Cherere, however acquitted the convict of two other counts of robbing Susan Marete of KES 16 200 and impersonating a police officer.
Marete, a bar operator in Nanyuki, had told the court that that day at around 11.00pm, three men entered her bar and ordered the clients to lie down before robbing them.

Marete reported the matter to Nanyuki police station. The accused was later arrested following another robbery and the said KDF items recovered from his house.
The accused was identified by the complainant for he was in police uniform and masqueraded as police officer.
However, the court rejected the second and third counts because Susan Marete and other witnesses failed to give a vivid description of the accused to the police when they first reported the matter.
He has 14 days to appeal against the sentence.
