Drama unraveled at Sokomjinga market in Meru town this morning after a 30 year old man who works as a Maize roaster was forcefully bathed by members of the public, colleagues and traders as passersby watched.
The man who is said to have gone for weeks without a shower was washed in the full glare of the public as passersby and children going to school watched in disbelief.
They chanted traditional songs as they washed him
Residents stripped him naked and bathed him vigorously at a car wash next to the entry of the Sokomjinga market using bar soap and tattered sack as they shouted and chanted traditional songs.
They termed the man as a disgrace to other traders saying he was tarnishing their name.
Clothes set of fire
They also set his clothes on fire including his inner wear all of which were extremely dirty.
They later contributed some cash which they used to buy him new clothes.
The man tried to defend himself shifting the blame to his wife claiming that she does not wash his clothes but his allegations backfired.
