The court was told that police arrested the accused in his house following a tip off from the members the public.
Led by David Kemboi, the prosecution said that they recovered the illegal drugs after conducting a thorough search in the house of accused.
Kemboi further urged the court to pass a stern fine to the accused to serve as a warning to other drug peddlers.
“Cases of drug peddling are on rise and it’s prudent for the accused to be fined heavily to warn others,” said the prosecutor.
The accused accepted the charges and pleaded with the court for a lesser fine. He said lack of employment had forced him into drug peddling.
However, the chief Magistrate turned down the appeal saying that drug peddling is illegal.
