Man driving stolen vehicle out on bail

A man has been released by a Nyahururu court on bond of KES 200, 000 and a surety of a similar amount for being in possession of a stolen vehicle.
George Macharia who appeared before Nyahururu senior Principal Magistrate William Chepseba was charged that on May 22 this year at Shamata shopping center within Nyandarua County he was found with a stolen Toyota Corolla station Wagon vehicle.
The court heard that police officers from Shamata Police Post acting on information summoned the accused person to the police post who arrived driving the stolen vehicle which he claimed belonged to him, but the vehicle was reportedly stolen, according to the police..
Macharia also failed to produce documents to claim ownership of the vehicle and was therefore arrested and presented before then Criminal Investigations Department in Nyahururu.
