Man draws gun against MP over counterfeit alcohol

Juja - Juja MP, Francis Munyua escaped death narrowly after a Wines & Spirits proprietor attempted to shoot him during a crackdown on counterfeit alcohol in his compound.
The proprietor identified as Pius Mwangi reportedly drew out his gun against the MP but was disarmed by the police officers who had accompanied the MP in the operation.

Later Mwangi let the MP, police and locals into his premises, where they handpicked samples of the drink which the MP said will be taken to the government chemist for analysis to establish if they are indeed counterfeit.
By Saturday, 8 people had been reported dead and scores more wounded in the crackdown against illegally brewed alcohol.
