Man defiles daughters, infects them with STDs

12 August 2013, 12:33 John Kioko

Police officers in Lunga Lunga Kwale County have arrested a 50-year-old man for allegedly defiling his two daughters.

The suspect, Nyawa Mvurya, is also said to have infected the two minors aged between 15 and 16 years with STDs.

Sources said that the two minors were defiled by their father who purported to be treating them by injecting medicine through their private parts.

Children officer in the area Salim Kituo said the two minors who are primary school pupils informed villagers about the incident before police arrested the suspect.

“The suspect deceived his daughters that they were not feeling well and the only medicine that could cure them was to be admitted through sexual intercourse,” said the children officer.

He said that police in collaboration with area chief arrested the suspect who has three wives in his home at Mabarabarani in Lunga Lunga.

Kituo said such cases will not be tolerated and asked local residents to ensure they take care of their children.

“We urge parents to take care of their children; they deserve to be protected according to the constitution,” he noted.

Mvurya is expected to be arraigned in court once investigation into the matter is complete.

The incident comes only a few days after the arrest of a middle aged man who defiled her daughter severally in the same district, even as the deputy president William Ruto ordered chiefs across the country to deal with anyone found having affairs and impregnating school going children.
