Kampala - Villagers of Nganjo village in central Uganda were shocked to see a villager carrying the blood-stained head of his neighbor while shouting, ''he was playing with me, I have finished him.''
Katu Mbaki then took the head to the home of the deceased, identified as Tadeo Kakooza.
According to Kakooza's wife, Annet Kakooza, Mbaki had quarreled with their daughter, Goretti Nakate early in the morning and hit her with a stick.
''Nakate ran to his father who was in the garden and reported that he had been beaten by Mbaki. My husband confronted Mbaki and warned him against beating his children,'' said Kakooza.
Mbaki went to his house and picked a sharp machete which he used to cut off Kakooza's head.
He carried the head through the village before going to Kakooza's home and showed it it his wife. The wife sounded an alarm and villagers ran to the scene where they lynched the suspect.
The area police commander, Afende Kitaka condemned the villagers for practicing mob justice.
He however said that on checking Mbaki's pockets, they found rolls of marijuana which show that he could have cut off the neighbour's head under the influence of drugs.
