Nyeri - A 35-year-old man from King’ong’o Estate in Nyeri town has committed suicide after his wife allegedly engaged in multiple illicit love affairs.
The body of Peter King’ori Warui was found hanging on the roof of his timber house Wednesday morning by friends and relatives.
The house had been locked from inside forcing the neighbours break the window to gain entry, only to find his body hanging on a rafter.
His brother, Cyrus Ndumia said King’ori had called him Tuesday night saying that he would commit suicide as he was tired of his wife’s behaviour.
“Last night he called me saying that he had burnt all his clothes, alongside those of his wife and children. I was shocked to find him dead in the morning,” said Ndumia.

Ndumia said his brother was a polite man and of good conduct.
The father of two children, aged seven and two, was working as a turn-boy with Mweiga Breakdown Company.
His employer, John Maina Tutho said the deceased had since last week been showing signs of stress following a domestic dispute with his wife of nine years.
“On Saturday, his wife Jane Karimi left and said she had gone back to her parents in Meru only for King’ori to find her at a club in King’ong’o shopping centre,” said Tutho.
His wife was not at the scene of crime as police removed the body to Nyeri Referral hospital mortuary.
