Brother's death leads to suicide

23 May 2013, 11:30 Alloys Musyoka

Malindi - A middle aged man committed suicide on Wednesday morning after his twin brother who had gone fishing drowned together with his two colleagues at the Indian Ocean.

The deceased Mwalimu Karisa Ramadhan brother to Hussein Karisa Ramadhan who died with his two colleagues Mathias Dume and Karisa Katana is said to have committed suicide after learning of his brother's death.

Watamu chief Michael Kaingu Lenga, said that the body of the deceased was found few meters in the bush from their homestead hanging from a tree where he had committed suicide.

The chief said although the deceased did not leave any information concerning his death, they suspect he might have committed suicide because his twin brother died and he was feeling lonely.

Sources said that the deceased had accompanied his relatives to take the bodies of the three men to a mortuary and later came back but was feeling lonely.

In the evening the deceased is said to have been seen shortly and left to an unknown area before his body was found hanging from a tree in the morning.

Chief Lenga said that his body was discovered by a passerby who informed his family. His body was taken to Malindi private mortuary.

He said his death is being investigated by the police.
