Man charged with KES 1.2M fertilizer theft

Mombasa - A man has been charged before a Mombasa a law court for stealing fertilizer worth KES 1.2million.
Han Nathaniel Kiure denied the charges before Magistrate Viola Yatur.
It is alleged that on January 25, 2014 within Changamwe sub-Count, Kiure stole 600 bags of fertilizer worth KES 1.2 million which belonged to of M/S Export Trading Company.
The consignment was on transit from the Port of Mombasa Changamwe Export Trading company warehouse.
The prosecutor, Eunice Maingi informed the court that the accused was arrested at the Kenya-Tanzania Border of Namanga while on the run.
“We pray that this court give us more time to allow the investigation officer to complete his investigation and that the accused be remanded at Changamwe police station,” said Maingi.
The case was set for hearing on April 5, 2014.
