Man burns wife stabs workmate in Nyeri

Nyeri - Police in Nyeri county have arrested a man who Friday morning stormed an office at burned his wife before injuring another woman.
The man stormed the offices where his wife works and set her ablaze before stabbing her workmate.
Timothy Kang’ang’i, who was armed with two small containers of petrol and a dagger first stormed the offices of Tetu Aberdare Sanitation and Water Services Company where he went direct to the office of Secretary Leah Wanjiru who is his wife.
He first poured petrol on her before setting her ablaze in what seems to be a love affair.
When she screamed for help, her workmate, Christine Wairimu came to help her but the man went berserk and stabbed her on the hand.
He later drunk petrol and tried to commit suicide.
The two have been married for over ten years and have one child.
Business came at a standstill at the busy offices with blood spreading all over the offices.
The man who seemed to be drunk admitted that he wanted the wife and himself dead.
The man who works as a hawker cum watchman in Nakuru town had traveled to Nyeri to solve a dispute between them but things went out of hand.
Area chief Mwangi Wangechi said the family has been having a long dispute over love affair.
The two were rushed at Outspan Hospital where they were admitted in critical condition.
Police later recovered the dagger and petrol containers.
