Man arrested with fake currency in Trans Mara

Trans Mara - Police in Trans Mara are holding a 25-year-old man for being in possession of fake currency.
The man believed to be from Migori was arrested as he attempted to exchange a fake one thousand Kenya shillings note at a petrol station.
Area deputy police boss Paul Cheruiyot said the suspect was a member of a gang behind the circulation of fake currency in the are.
Police also recovered chemicals believed to be used in making the fake notes from the man
Cheruiyot said the man will be arraigned in court once investigations are complete.
"I am cautioning you to be wary of such people so that you don't fall prey to them and circulate fake currency, you should closely cooperate with police to have them arrested," he said.
