Man arrested for stealing airtime scratch cards worth KES 300

Nanyuki - Police in Nanyuki town on Tuesday morning arrested a man who allegedly stole airtime scratch cards worth KES 300 from a shopkeeper.
The suspect, Lukas Njuguna was later arraigned before a Nanyuki court facing charges of theft.
While appearing before Nanyuki Chief Magistrate Wanjiku Cherere, the accused denied that on November 20, 2014 at Muramati trading centre, Laikipia County, he sneaked into the shop of Matthew Njenga and stole KES 1 050 cash and Safaricom airtime scratch cards worth KES 300.

The prosecution alleged that the complainant had left the shop when the accused sneaked in and stole the said items before escaping to unknown destination.
The court asked for a probation report regarding the accused and the case was slated to proceed on February 19, 2015.
