Man arrested for having an affair with cow

22 April 2014, 12:41 John Kioko

Kwale - Police in Kwale County have arrested a middle-aged man for allegedly having an affair with a cow at Tiwi Kibwaga area on Sunday night.

Eyewitnesses said that the suspect was arrested by residents and handed to police after he was found on the act by the cow owner.

Area chief, Nassoro Juma confirmed the incident and said that they have started investigations into the matter.

He said that the suspect, Hamadi Mwamtsunga was found having sexual intercourse with a cow belonging to Shaban Kilungu.

“He was caught red handed on the act at Shaban Kilungus’ cattle shed in the middle of the night before he was arrested and later handed over to police,” he said.

The suspect is being held at Kwale police station for questioning before police decide on his plight.

Chief Juma said that the suspect is likely to be taken to court on Tuesday.

Matuga sub-county administration police commander, Phideliah Kisinyo confirmed that her officers had arrested the suspect and started questioning him.

Kisinyo however said that for the police to be able to get a sufficient evidence to charge the suspect, a veterinary officer must conduct their investigations before handing the finding to police.

“Without the veterinary officer's report, it will not be easy to charge the suspect,” she told journalists on Monday.
