Man Seeks Government Intervention

A fifty year old man is appealing to the government to intervene and have his land that was grabbed from him given back to him.
John Magorwe from Ngongoaka village, Kunati location in Tigania East District of the Meru County says he has exhausted all avenues and has been unable to have his ten acre piece of land returned to him.
Magorwe who is a widower with seven children claims the two men, Musee Kanunungu and Njeru Kunjiru who grabbed his land claimed it was sold to them by Uhuru Mirit and since then he has remained landless.
Magorwe who visited the media offices in Meru to air his plight says despite being served with letters to attend the land dispute meeting in Tigania East by the area District Commissioner, the two refused to attend the meetings.
He claims he planted crops on his piece of land last year and the two, Kanungu and Njeru harvested the entire crop.
He says he reported the matter to the Police through Ngongoaila police station patrol base but no action was taken.
He says he now plans to walk from Tigania East to State house Nairobi to seek President Mwai Kibaki’s personal intervention if he is not able to get his land back as soon as possible.
