Malindi High School principal Emmanuel Kitsao had said that the incident occurred at about midnight of Friday when he first heard explosion which was followed by distress call from the deputy headteachers' servant quarter.

He said that he then ran outside his house to see what had happened just to find the house of his neighbor the deputy was on fire before he mobilized students and started putting off fire.

A teacher at the school who spoke on matter of anonymity said that government investigators arrived in the school on Saturday to collect information in what is said to establish the real cause of the fire that killed eight people of the family.

It is claimed that the government is not satisfied with many theories that have been brought up after the fire tragedy and now want to establish what was the main cause amid claims that there are some people behind the matter.

"They said that there must be something more than what is being said and they believe that there is someone behind it that why they also collected sample from the house that was burnt," said the teacher.

Reports indicates that Kenya power and Lightening company has distanced themselves from the fire tragedy from the theory that it was caused by electric fault claiming an extension of the house that the deputy constructed they were not consulted on wiring and that could have caused the fire.

The deceased teacher had just occupied the house a week before he died few months after he was promoted to deputy principal.

Her wife was teacher before she resigned for business activities and she had several cereal shops in the tourist town as well as renting houses.
