The registrar of political parties has been asked to make public the list of party members earlier before general election to avoid confusions.
Kenya Community Development Support Center (Kecosce) Director Phyllis Muema said it will be a disaster if names of party members will be made public few days before election in case some members are registered in parties not of their choices.
She said issues of some political parties registering party members without their consent is believed to be going and that it should be solved earlier.
“We want names of all party members to be made public earlier simply because some political parties might have registered members without their consent and that will be a big problem to be solved at the rushing hours before election,” she noted.
Bringing out the list earlier, she added those people registered through illegal ways will be known and action against them can be taken.
Muema noted that there is need for the list to be out earlier for timely correction in case of any issue which is against political parties act.
Some of those who fell victim were members of parliament from ODM who found that they had doubled registered themselves without knowing.
As the Kenya Community Development Support Center has said there is that need for earlier inspection and names of party members made public early in advance to avoid fiasco during late hours before general election.
