Nairobi - Majority of Kenyans prefer the International Criminal Court ICC and want it to remain in the country, according to a survey.
The survey sponsored by the University of Nairobi in conjunction with Afrobarometer says that most Kenyans want the ICC to remain in the country and probe corrupt leaders.
The survey said that 60% of Kenyans prefer the court to remain in the country.
On the other hand, the survey noted that 56% of Kenyans want Parliament to drop proposals to remove Kenya from the Rome Statutes.
The reason is that the ICC is the only court capable of being able to fight impunity in the country.
Kenya as well as other countries in the continent have started plans to move out of the ICC court and start an African Court of Justice.
President Uhuru Kenyatta has already made a KES 90 million donation to ensure the plans go through.
