Nairobi - Former Trade Assistant Minister, Omingo Magara, has dismissed claims that the bizarre cargo intercepted at the port of Mombasa last week belongs to him.
Magara said he was the owner of some of the goods in the same container and and claimed the cargo categorized as unconventional was headed to the Village Market, imported for the purposes of Halloween and decorative items.
The cargo, imported from China and comprising artificial human skeletons, heads, limbs, bats, tombstones, masks and trophies, were held by the Kenya Revenue Authority over what the KRA officers termed as false declaration.
The cargo had been linked to a politician from Nyanza and former South Mugirango Member of Parliament, and the current chairman of Centre for Multiparty Democracy (CMD) Omingo Magara came out to dismiss claims circulating in social media that the mysterious cargo belonged to him.
