Nyeri - A speeding car owned by a Maendeleo ya Wanawake (MYWO) chairlady hit and killed a seven-year-old boy at Nyeri Estate Monday night.
The vehicle, a black land cruiser that was being driven by Nyeri central sub-county MYWO chairlady, Emma Njora, killed the class-one-pupil near their home gate.
The father of the deceased, Charles Mwangi said the car was in a high speed.
Mwangi said he had just dropped the young boy from school when the accident happened at the Ministry of Works Estate.
“It was tragic to see my son dying. I had just dropped him and he was opening the gate when a speeding car driven by a woman hit him and killed him on the spot,” said the mourning Mwangi.

Mwangi, who is a matatu driver in Nyeri town, said the car crossed over from the left lane to his gate where the boy was.
He said the woman driver left the car quickly and boarded a matatu before she returned with a squad of police officers and a senior government administrator in the area.
The car was later towed to Nyeri Central police station.
“I went to the police station with some family members. We were with the woman at the station but she was moments later picked by another private car leaving me stranded,” said Mwangi.
“I don’t know why she has not been arrested or prosecuted for causing my son’s death. I want justice to happen,” he added.
However, police said traffic officers were investigating the matter to determine the next move.
