Nairobi - Machakos governor Alfred Mutua faces arrest after flouting a court summon requiring him to attend a court session.
The High court in Mombasa ordered Wednesday that Mutua be brought before it for failing to appear in court on February 19, 2014 to answer to charges of non-payment of a pending bill.
Mutua, as the proprietor of Golden Dreams advertising had been taken to court by the Kitui Flour Mills over the non-payment of a KES 1.3 million bill.
But in failing to appear, he was charged with contempt and ordered arrested by security agencies.
" The respondent will be required to appear before this court to answer as to why he did not show up for an earlier summon, a statement from the court read.
It is not yet clear who will press forward with the warrant and if it will be heeded by the police, considering an earlier warrant on Interior PS Mutea Iringo was not heeded by the police.
There has been clamour for Mutua's head following reports of financial misappropriation in his county and the warrant will only add to his problems.
