Kwale - Detectives in Kwale County have arrested 12 people among them the Mombasa Republican Council Group chair Omar Mwamnuadzi allegedly found at his Kombani home on Wednesday.
Kwale county commissioner Evans Achoki told the media on Wednesday that they were arrested and are questioned to establish what their mission is being in the area.
Achoki added that the suspect were nabbed after members of public raised concerns on presence of suspicious people at the home of the MRC chair who has been on the lime light over leading a secessionist group in the coastal region.
He said they are now profiling the suspects before they think what to do next with them.
Some of the suspects, the commissioner said are from Kilifi County together with others from Kwale County.

Their presence at the MRC chair raised more questions than answers to locals who reported to the authority.
“You see locals saw people who are new to them and thought it was wise for them to share the information with us that why we are trying to question them to know exactly why they were there,” he added.
Omar Goga MRC organizing secretary however said that Mwamnuadzi is among the 12 arrested suspects.
‘I have been told that he is among the 12 arrested but I can assure you that nothing was going on. We don’t know why they have arrested him so far,” said Goga.
His son Rama Mwamnuadzi told journalists that he got information of his father arrest from his sister at around 10: 00 am on Wednesday after he left for work.
He accuses the state of continuing to frustrate their family and causing panic in the entire south coast region for nothing.
‘I was on my way to official duty today when my sister called me saying our father has again been arrested by police. We wonder what the state is planning for us, it is causing unnecessary panic at the south coast region, Said Rama.
Before going to press the 12 were being taken to Kwale police station for further interrogation by administration police officers involved in arresting them.
Mombasa republic council group has been agitating for seceding the coast region and police have been working around the clock to ensure they thwart any of their attempts to cause chaos in the coastal region.
Recently the group was linked to be working with al-shabaab although they publicly disputed and threatened to move to court over the issue.
