Nakuru - President Uhuru Kenyatta must come out and respond to allegations that he participated in the fixing of his deputy William Ruto at the ICC for his own good, a member of parliament has said.
Nakuru east MP, David Gikaria has said that Uhuru must do so in order to protect his name and avert any backlash from the Kalenjin community.
Speaking Tuesday in Nakuru town, Gikaria said President Kenyatta must stop all members of parliament from talking on his behalf and confront the issue himself.

“We might take this issue lightly but it may have a lot of negative implications in the future if it is not dealt with. The President’s name and image is at stake and it is time he came out and responded to the claims,” said Gikaria.
“By doing so, he will clear the air and avoid a fall out between him and his deputy. Some people believe that he actually fixed Ruto and this will give the opposition some ground of fighting him,” he added.
Gikaria blamed Gatundu south MP, Moses Kuria for creating what he called uncalled for and unnecessary debate over the ICC fixing issue, which he said has caused unease in the ruling coalition.
“The truth is that, this issue has caused some tension in the Jubilee coalition and it all should be blamed on Moses Kuria for his lose mouth,” he said.
