Nairobi - Subukia Member of Parliament Nelson Gaichuhie has said that 30% of the projects that will be funded by Subukia CDF in the financial year 2013/2014 will be allocated to the youth and has urged them to register companies in order to benefit from this.
Gaichuhie said in line with the governments policy of allocating 30% of procurement jobs to youths, the CDF office will ensure that procurement of materials for those projects will also be given to youths and they should be ready when the funding begins.
Speaking in a meeting with residents of Subukia, the MP urged them to register companies and groups and get loans from the youth fund and other funds started by the government to help them carry out the work once they are allocated as they wait for the payment.
He said that Subukia CDF kitty has been allocated 70million shillings this financial year and priority will be given to completion of projects that were started before beginning new ones.
He added that his office will ensure there is transparency in funding the community projects and called on the residents to have unity in achieving the development agenda in the area.
