MP urges Raila to swallow his pride

31 July 2013, 11:22 Joseph Mukubwa

Kieni MP Mathenge Kanini Kega has called upon the ex Prime Minister Raila Odinga to stop engaging in activities that can be a recipe to political instabilities.

The MP criticized the former PM for working to undermine the Jubilee government, saying that such acts should not be tolerated since the government is the choice of majority Kenyans.

The legislator's remarks were in response to the heckling of some leaders affiliated to the Jubilee alliance during a burial in Kisii.

“Raila should swallow his pride, accept defeat in March 4 elections and fold from active political arena instead of inciting Kenyans,” said the MP.

He said the ex PM must allow Kenyans to harmoniously coexist since he lost in the last general elections in order to give Uhuru time to undertake the mandate they have been given by electorate.

“The trip by Raila and some CORD coalition governors to the United States should be investigated to determine the reasons as to why they are flying out of the country,” he added.

“The government should be wary of some donor funds being channeled directly to the County governments from outside especially those affiliated to CORD coalition as that the money could be used for wrong purposes,” he added.

The MP was addressing the media in a Nyeri hotel.
