MP raises concerns over dormant colleagues

Nairobi - Ndhiwa MP, Agostino Neto has raised concerns that some MPs are too dormant in Parliament.
Neto lamented that a section of MPs from both opposition and government sides do not participate in debates and remain unnoticed.
“Some MPs are dormant and you can’t know them. We sometimes meet at washrooms and tea joints and wonder whether they are members of parliament because you have never heard their voice,” said Neto.
He claimed that the vocal MPs who perform well in chambers equally perform well in their constituencies.
Speaking at Narumoru stadium in Kieni constituency, Neto asked the public to be electing leaders who can push their issues in the national assembly.

He spoke during the Kieni Constituency sports tournament involving football, volleyball, darts and pool games.
He was accompanied by a group of MPs who are members of the Bunge Football Club including Kisoi Munyao (Mbooni), Victor Munyaka (Machakos town), Agostino Neto (Ndhiwa), Kathuri Murungi (South Imenti) and Wafula Wamunyinyi (Kanduyi).
“The team with us today is made up of some of the best performing politicians in the chambers,” said Neto.
