Laikipia - A Laikipia Member of Parliament and his bodyguard are among the suspects being investigated for the shooting of a cyclist.
Laikipia West MP, Wachira Karani and his bodyguard, Eliud Chege were linked to the shooting of Gerald Mwangi by the Criminal investigations Department (CID).
The incident happened on January 18, 2015 around 8 Pm at Kinamba, and was reported at the Kinamba Police Station.
It is alleged that the MP’s bodyguard shot Mwangi, a veterinary officer, and later approached him after he fell off from the motorcycle and roughed him up.

Mwangi, through his lawyer, claims that police have deliberately ignored his quest for justice.
But Laikipia CID director, Josiah Maritim said he has directed the file to the office of the Director of Public Prosecution for directions on the case.
Mwangi claims he suffered multiple injuries after he fell off from the motorbike following the shooting.
