MP lashes at ICC for delaying Uhuru’s case

Nyeri - Adjourning the case facing President Uhuru Kenyatta at the International Criminal Court (ICC) to 2017 is not a wise move, Othaya MP Mary Wambui has stated.
Wambui said the case has taken too long and a determination is needed.
Speaking at her constituency Monday, Wambui stated that the actual perpetrators of 2007 post election violence were not apprehended.
“We as Kenyans are aware of our problems and we are the only people who can solve them, not people from outside. We should forget the past and move on with our nation building activities,” said Wambui.

She asserted that the court ought to understand that Kenyans can find solutions to challenges facing them.
The MP added that Uhuru and his Deputy William Ruto, who is also facing criminal cases at the same court, were elected with a majority and popular vote despite having cases at the court.
“Kenyans decided to elect Uhuru and Ruto knowing that they have cases. That popular decision should be respected,” said Wambui.
