Nairobi - An MP disagreed with the appointment of Phillip Kameru as head of the National Intelligence Services NIS.
The revelation was made in a report tabled in parliament by the Committee on Defence and Foreign Relations which had been tasked with probing the appointment of the new intelligence boss.
The 29 member Committee majorly agreed with his appointment even though one MP whose name was not named dissented.
The Committee member insisted that the appointment of the new boss would demoralize other officers from within who have worked their way up the ranks.

The member further added that the government is militarizing the public service with appointments of former military personnel in public positions.
But the concerns were overlooked following what the Committee said was an impressive interview that Kameru held.
Kameru, if his appointment is approved by MPs will replace Michael Gichangi who quit last month.
