MP calls for prompt naming of Al Shabaab financiers

Nyeri - Kieni MP, Kanini Kega on Wednesday asked North Eastern political leaders to promptly name the members, financiers and sympathizers of the Al Shabaab terror group in the region in the wake of their threat to do so in a month.
He said that there was no need for leaders to take all that long when the nation was bleeding from terror attacks, noting that they seem to know the perpetrators by the fact that they have threatened to expose them.
He added that the leaders should also be investigated to establish whether some of them are Al Shabaab financiers or sympathizers.
Kega's comments comes a few days after over 40 Northern frontier leaders who threatened to expose Al Shabaab financiers last weekend in Nairobi following a public outrage over the killing of over 142 students at the Garissa University College by the Al Shabaab militants.

Kega was speaking at the Narumoru stadium in his constituency while presiding over disbursement of KES 9 million Uwezo Funds cheques to various groups in the area.
The MP also said there was no need to erect a wall to bar the Al Shabaab militants from entering the country since they do so using designated entry points by bribing the security personnel manning the borders.
He also called on parents to beware of their children's whereabouts to prevent them from being recruited to such terror groups without their knowledge.
