MP calls for audit of security agencies
16 May 2014, 10:20
Nyeri - Nyeri county women representative Priscilla Nyokabi on Thursday said an audit should be done in all security agencies to identify which security organ is failing the country.
“After an audit, new persons will be deployed so as to ensure our country is secure. There could be problems at the boarder control units, police service, intelligence department among others,” she stated.
She noted that security measures and interventions are needed so as to prevent further attacks as it has been the case in the recent past.
Nyokabi made the remarks at Alamano Catholic Hall in Karatina town during the 4th youth annual entrepreneurship seminar.
She further came to defense of the Judiciary on issues regarding release of suspects on bonds and cash bails, but stated that though it is a right the Judiciary should be cautious when releasing suspects.
