MP arrested for conning fellow legislator KES 7 million

Nairobi - A Nairobi MP was arrested and has been taken to court for allegedly conning a fellow MP KES 7 million in a botched land deal.
Arrested is the Embakasi North Member of Parliament James Mwangi Gakuya.
He was arrested
on Wednesday evening by police for allegedly duping Makadara MP Bernard Mutura of KES 7 million in the false pretense that he would help him secure a piece of land.
Mwangi is accused of acquiring the money in August 2014 by lying to Mutura that he would deliver the piece of land.
He has been presented before the Nairobi magistrates court to answer to the charges Thursday morning where he will also take his plea.
