Bungoma - A member of the national assembly from Bungoma County has exuded confidence that Moses Wetang'ula will recapture his lost Senatorial seat in the December 19 by-elections.
Kimilili MP, Suleiman Murunga, who is also the Ford Kenya national director of elections, said they have no doubt that the immediate former Bungoma senator will win the seat and vowed to mobilize all his CORD affiliated colleagues in the County to rally up their constituents to support their beleaguered party leader.
“Personally, I have started campaigning for Wetang'ula in my constituency. He will get 100 percent of votes from here. Apart from the party MPs, we will also mobilize local Members of the County Assembly (MCAs), majority of whom are from our party, to drum up support for the former senate minority leader,” said Murunga, who asked the County residents not to panic because he has no doubt that the CORD Co-Principal will be on the ballot.
He made the remarks over the weekend at Kamusinde Secondary School in Bungoma, where he officiated the handing over of a KES 150 000 cheque from the CDF kitty to the institution that will go towards the renovation of a dormitory in the school that was burnt last month in a fire incident.
The legislator was flanked by Florence Silano Wekesa, the County Representative of Kamasielo Ward, and Moses Opicho of Kamukuywa Ward.
