MP: No crisis in the country to warrant dialogue
26 June 2014, 13:03
Nyeri - There is no crisis in the country that deserves national dialogue, Kieni MP James Mathenge (Kanini Kega) said Thursday.
Kega explained that there are constitutional institutions for dealing with any arising issues including insecurity.
The MP said Raila Odinga has a hidden agenda in his calls for national dialogue, aimed at bringing scuffles in the country.
He opined that the opposition should channel their issues for discussion in the National Assembly and Senate through MPs.
The outspoken MP further lashed at Members of County Assemblies (MCAs) over the numerous foreign trips saying that they are unnecessary.
Kega claimed that MCAs were holding governors at ransom so as to get the trips authorised.
The MP made the remarks at Kiaragana Secondary School in his constituency while giving out a cheque of KES 1.4 million for development of the school infrastructure.
