MP: Mbugua's name should be included in corruption report

Nakuru - Nakuru East MP David Gikaria has lashed out at the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) for not including Nakuru Governor Kinuthia Mbugua's name in the corruption report that was submitted in Parliament by President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Gikaria said the Nakuru County government is so corrupt and wondered how Mbugua's name was missing from the list.
He called on the EACC to investigate Mbugua, saying the commission's investigation was shallow.
"How could EACC fail to investigate corruption in Nakuru County even after we raised alarm over the misappropriation of millions of shillings by the county government. We even gave them the evidence and it is surprising that Mbugua's name is missing from the list," said Gikaria.
According to Gikaria, EACC should have investigated all the 47 counties and not just a sample because all county governors are not clean.

Gikaria said he will officially write to the EACC and the president to ask them to investigate Mbugua and his senior officers for what he alleged they are swindling public money.
He cited KES 30 million which he claimed were meant for the construction of a modern maternity wing at the Rift valley Provincial Hospital but the money was swindled and no action was taken.
