Nairobi - Members of County Assemblies MCA's will be allocated three members of staff each to ease their workload at Ward level.
The MCA's in total will have 4,350 staff allocated to them to help in their day to day activities.
Of the three, one will be a driver with the other two being office staff.
This follows the approval of funds by the Commision of Revenue Authority which will see the MCA's be able to get themselves members of staff to help them deal with the increased levels of workload at County level.
The funds amount to KES 1.1 billion in total.
The move was applauded at County level, with MCA's happy to finally get their wish for staff after having a similar proposal of six staff declined last year.
" This is a great move. We have alot of workload and expecting us to operate on our own devices is simply impossible, Ongata Rongai Ward MCA Mwathi Pere said.
MCA's had last year been put under the public eye for their demands, which at the time had been thought to be opulent and extravagant.
They had however complained that being elected leaders, they deserved as many privileges as those afforded to members of parliament.
